Congrats now
Congratulations, now you are the proud owner of a beautiful puppy. For this little fellow, you have to be little cautious in feeding. Here are some general tips on feeding management and care
Feeding schedule
7.00 a.m. – Lukewarm milk (double toned) + water (1:1 ratio) depending on the capacity to consume it full stomach
11.00 a.m. - 4Tsp Cerelac + water (to make pasty consistency)
2.00 p.m. – Commercial dog food
6.00p.m. - Lukewarm milk (double toned) + water (1:1 ratio)depending on the capacity to consume it full stomach
9.00p.m.- 4Tsp Cerelac + water
In case puppy has loose motion/diarrhea, Stop MILK at once. Mix ½ tsp Nature Cure (Dabur) with Cerelac + Water only one time. Incase the diarrhea persists, call the doctor immediately
Take your pup outside after every meal so that it does its potty &shoo-shoo outside since your pup is small it will eat & sleep initially for a couple of weeks. the moment it wakes up it would do the shoo-shoo . He/she would smell and try to wet he cleanest place possible in the house, so it is better for you if you take him to outside/balcony/bathroom as it suits you.
Indications that the pup is not receiving enough milk is its constant crying, extreme inactivity ,and/or failure to achieve weight gain in accordance with the general guideline that pup should gain 2-4 g/day/kg of anticipated adult weight.
You can use newspaper spread in balcony where it can do its potty, if u are resident of 2nd floor or above otherwise best is if it learns that it has to do his potty and shoo shoo outside the house, it would be better for you.
Bathing schedule
Summer – once a week. Apply shampoo on the body of pup rub it make a lather and wash it with fresh water take caution that soap should not enter Eyes or ear.
you can use ear plug/cotton before giving the bath. Dry with fresh towel and keep the pet indoor in a room.
Please do not use fan/heater/A.C. etc to dry the pup. Let it dry itself at room temperature.
Winter-you can use Luke warm water once in fortnight. Do not tie your pup in sun it can catch cold.
Your pup should be an asset for you, it should not become the liability, and it depends totally on your management and care.
I suggest that you should maintain a diary in which you write down your queries pertaining to your pup. On your next visit you are free to ask those questions
Till then happy puppy caring |
